Tunnel Fan Comparison Spreadsheet 2014

  • This spreadsheet allows the user to compare different tunnel fans: the number required, air speed produced, and yearly electricity usage.

  • Input:

    • House length
    • House witdh
    • open ceiling/dropped ceiling
    • Minimum desired tunnel fan capacity (typically between 9 and 11 cfm/ft2)
    • Electricity rate
    • Estimated tunnel fan operating hours
    • Air moving capacities of fans you want to compare (@ static pressure of 0.05" - 0.20")
    • Energy efficiency rating of fans you want to compare (@ static pressure of 0.05" & 0.10")
    • Desired air speed
  • Outputs:

    • Air speed in the house
    • Number of each type of fan inputted required
    • Air flow ratio of fan inputted
    • Estimated air moving capacity of each tunnel fan at expected operating static pressure
    • Total air moving capacity of the tunnel fas at expected operating static pressure
    • Yearly power usage for each of the fans inputted
    • Theoretical windchill effect produced
    • Number of tunnel fans required are based of the expectant static pressure at the desired air speed

       

      • 500 ft/min = 0.10"
      • 600 ft/min = 0.15"
      • Over 725 ft/min = 0.20.
